RTOS (Real Time Operating system) is an operating system. It is used for processing “real time
application” requests. RTOS has advanced algorithm for Scheduling. The flexibility of scheduling
enables a wider and computer-system orchestration of priorities.
There are certain key characteristics of RTOS:
- Level of consistency when it comes to the time taken to accomplish a particular task
- Variability is jitter.
There are different types of RTOS. They are:
- Hard RTOS
- Firm RTOS
- Soft RTOS
Some of the prominent RTOS are LynxOS, OSE, QNX ,RTLinux etc.
LINUX is a operating system. It is UNIX like and POSIX-compliant computer OS. It is assembled
under the model of free and open software development and distribution. It is a leading Operating
System on servers and mainframe computers or supercomputers. It is free and open source
software which us globally used.
